Health is the greatest gift one can receive. It is the irreplaceable wealth of life. A healthy life is the ultimate goal of everyone. I believe even during dark days a good health keeps us optimist. However there are those less fortunate who are not completely blessed with it. People who have to struggle a bit extra on daily basis to get things done because their health chart doesn’t have all the boxes ticked.
No one deliberately works on deteriorating their health. People don’t enjoy seeing themselves getting ripped away slowly from the threads of life. Nobody likes that agony but sadly, the truth remains that a majority is unaware of the health maintenance and those who are familiar often can’t afford the heavy bills of checkups.
In Pakistan, mainly in rural areas, many are oblivious to the fact that they need regular health checkups to prevent them from falling ill. Even so, if they are facing some health issues, they are unfamiliar to the symptoms and signs. They turn to conventional and home remedies taking the signs lightly rather than going to hospitals for right diagnosis and treatment. When such ignorance prevails in a society, even a curable disease becomes terminal.
However, I do believe that spreading awareness is not enough. It’s just one of the important steps towards health development but more needs to be done for those unfortunate people, who are aware yet their pockets don’t allow them to take a single blood test
Lives are lost when patients are unable to continue treatment because of financial restraints. This is where Lions of Pakistan steps in, providing the medical care people need. The best part about it, is that it’s for free of cost. There are several groups in Lions of Pakistan who serve the humanity by setting up free medical camps all over Pakistan.
Lions of Pakistan along with spreading awareness on health care and hygiene, look out for the medical care people require. These medical camps are not one timer, they are organized weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or annually, but they are regular in checking up on their patients. Currently, a major focus is on diabetes, eye care, cancer in children and so on. Lions of Pakistan, set up clinical camps to test these diseases. Lions of Pakistan also provide free medication at these camps for mild illness like fever, flu, cold etc.
Health is a blessing not all are blessed with, but Lions of Pakistan are striving every day to spread this blessing so that it can reach out to everyone. If you think you can play a part in providing comfort to these people in any way possible then Lions of Pakistan welcomes you aboard. After all these are all our people, and there is no greater joy than taking care of your people.
